Faculty of Textile Technology joins in with a student project to design costumes for the musical collective ARKTIK
The Faculty of Textile Technology, University of Zagreb, (Department of textile technology and fashion design) joined in with a student project for the “Art’s Birthday” event.
For this world premiere of the musical collective ARKTIK costumes are designed and produced by senior students of costimography Martina Hrup and Luiza Serblin, with the help of their mentor and professor Art.D. Ivana Bakal and mentor of costume production M.Eng. Durđica Kocijančić.
From a large number of proposed models, we selected the costumes that will be worn by the performers of the musical collective ARKTIK at their premiere on January 17th, marking the international celebration of Art’s Birthday with a concert in Lauba, a contemporary art gallery in Zagreb. Now that we’ve selected the fabrics and materials the costumes will be made of, the students will produce them in their Faculty’s workshops.
Here is a brief photo report from the first phase of work, while we’re eagerly awaiting the first dress rehearsal.
